Roma Commerce and Tourism is a not for profit organisation committed to provide networking opportunities, advocacy, information and promotional initiatives for the current and future business community.

We aim to increase confidence, knowledge and support for businesses in Roma to build a sustainable local economy.

PROCUREMENT

The purpose of this section is to help businesses find and apply for opportunities from the Government and the Oil & Gas Sectors, encouraging local businesses to apply and be used for small, medium and large projects and supply contracts.

Why is this important?
The Maranoa Workforce Plan is a crucial step in ensuring our region remains competitive, supports industry growth, and addresses shared challenges such as workforce shortages and evolving industry demands.

This initiative is funded by Jobs Queensland through the Grow Your Own Regional Workforce Program and aligns with the Queensland Government’s Good People. Good Jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032.

💐 OUR LADIES LUNCH GUEST SPEAKER 💐

Natasha Johnston is the visionary Founder and Director of Farm Angels previously Drought Angels, a Not-For-Profit organisation recognised as an essential support system for primary producers across Australia during adversity caused by natural disasters like drought, flood and fire. Farmer mental health issues and suicide continue to be a national crisis, and Tash’s tireless work has brought a tangible mix of emotional support and practical, tangible assistance to farming families in need.

Farm Angels has risen from Tash’s vow: “No farmer will go without food on their table while I have food on mine.” From humble beginnings, placing a wheelie bin for donations in front of her local supermarket, Tash and her fellow founders built Farm Angels over more than a decade, so far raising more than $23 million, and assisting more than 5,000 farming families across more than 1400 rural communities in that time.

Tash has been recognised with a 2025 Order of Australia Medal, a 2021 Queensland Local Hero award, and other honours, for her business and emotional leadership.

As Chief Angel, she continues to devote herself to personally visiting struggling farmers or communities in need, offering hugs, financial assistance or practical support.

When not on the road to visiting farmers, she lives in Miles, Queensland, with her husband, Steele and their fur baby Lily.
