2016 Maranoa Business Awards
The 2016 Annual Maranoa Business Awards were held on the 15 October at the Explorer's Inn Function Centre, Roma.
It was an event where the regions businesses came together to celebrate the success stories before them.
The success of the night would not have been what it was without the amazing work of the organising committee and generous support of our many sponsors. Thank you so much!

Jim Baker Medal for Vocational Service - Rotary
Awarded to Carmel Treasure
The Rotary Club of Roma invites you to participate in the nomination process for an award to highlight vocational service merit in our community. Dr Jim Baker was the creator of Queensland’s flying obstetrician / gynaecologist service and revolutionised the delivery of health services in rural Queensland. He was also a founding and life member of the Livestock Transport Association of Queensland. Throughout his life and throughout his membership of our club, Jim had a particular interest in a high level of vocational service, both as an ideal and as a working ethic. The
Rotary Club of Roma has established this annual award in recognition of Jim’s lifelong dedication to the principles of vocational service. “Vocational Service” is serving others through the workplace, aspiring to achieve high ethical standards, aiming to share skills and expertise through vocations and inspiring others in the process.
Congratulations to our award recipients and we look forward to another wonderful event next year!
