Maranoa Business Awards

The Annual Maranoa Business Awards celebrates local business excellence within our region.

As the region’s only comprehensive and prestigious awards scheme, the awards offer specific and meaningful benefits to the Maranoa business community and recognise achievements over a variety of categories.

Primarily a vehicle to recognise local businesses, the Maranoa Business Awards have been developed to encompass a category for almost every type of business enterprise.  The Awards seek to contribute to the self-image and identity of Maranoa business and to foster pride in our business community. They also seek to improve the outside perception of Maranoa business and recognise leading businesses with a view to encouraging others to improve.

The 2020 Maranoa Business Awards were a huge success.  Thank you to all who participated and supported this event.

Jim Baker Medal for Vocational Service - Rotary

The Rotary Club of Roma invites you to participate in the nomination process for an award to highlight vocational service merit in our community. Dr Jim Baker was the creator of Queensland’s flying obstetrician / gynaecologist service and revolutionised the delivery of health services in rural Queensland. He was also a founding and life member of the Livestock Transport Association of Queensland. Throughout his life and throughout his membership of our club, Jim had a particular interest in a high level of vocational service, both as an ideal and as a working ethic. The Rotary Club of Roma has established this annual award in recognition of Jim’s lifelong dedication to the principles of vocational service. “Vocational Service” is serving others through the workplace, aspiring to achieve high ethical standards, aiming to share skills and expertise through vocations and inspiring others in the process.
